Sat out Saturday night for three hours looking for Geminid meteors. Lovely clear skies for once. Saw about twenty five, mostly a blue white colour and quite bright. If it hadn't been so cold I'd have stayed out longer.
As someone who would rather look up than down here is a blog of the 'extraordinary' things that I see in the sky.

Philea
It may have been 300,000,000 miles away so I didn't have a chance of seeing it but it is worth giving a mention to the Philea probe that was landed on a comet yesterday.

Nothing, nil, zilch,
Spent two hours last night looking for Perseid meteors. I even got up at 3.30am for half an hour. I didn't see a single meteor. I know the bright full moon made it difficult but I had hoped to see at least one bright shooting star. I'll try again tonight if it's clear but we're supposedly past the peak now.
